BLACKMON ROAD WINS
2008 Middle School Invitational Mathematics Tournament
Two teams from Blackmon Road Middle took first and second place April 19
at the 29th Annual MCSD Middle School Invitational Mathematics Tournament.
Over 260 students from 15 area middle schools participated in the two events
of the competition: the individual written assessment and the partner
ciphering event. Scores from the two events were combined to determine the
winners.

Individual awards were presented to the top scorers and to the top
student in each grade.

MCSD middle schools sending teams were Arnold, Baker, Blackmon Road,
Double Churches, East Columbus, Middle School, Marshall, Midland, Richards,
Rothschild, and Veterans Memorial. Other area middle schools
participating were Carver, Faith, Harris County, Sanford, St. Anne, and St.
Luke. The tournament was hosted by East Columbus Magnet Academy, under the
direction of Sherree Hatcher and the ECMA mathematics teachers.
