Leroy Alexander of the Transportation Department was honored
by the Board during the October meeting for his selection as winner of the
October ABCD Award.
Leroy is one of the bus drivers for the 21st Century
After-School Program and is a very enthusiastic and caring bus driver for
Thirtieth Avenue Pre-School. He asked for the front porch light to be left
on to ensure safety when the 21st Century Program students get off the bus
as daylight savings was fast approaching. Not only does he take pride in his
job, but also in how his bus is kept. Before loading the students, he goes
from seat to seat, making sure the bus is clean for the students. He always
has a smile on his face.
He genuinely cares about the students who ride his bus and will not hesitate
to tell their parents not to worry about the safety of their children while
on his bus.
