Sheila Snider has been employed with MCSD as a Custodian
since 2001. In the nomination letter, Dr. Renee Mallory, principal at
Northside High School, wrote, “In addition to performing her assigned
duties, Mrs. Snider consistently goes beyond her assigned tasks to make
things better for the students and faculty at Northside. She makes seasonal
decorations for the main office, media center, and guidance offices for the
enjoyment of everyone who uses these facilities. Her cheerful attitude and
excellent work ethic make her a favorite with adults and students. She
frequently makes positive suggestions about changes in her job area and
accepts responsibility without complaint. She is a joy to work with.”
A teacher said that she is devoted to making the classrooms,
cafeteria, main office areas, corridors and grounds--everything she
touches--especially clean and safe for students and faculty. She is known as
“Miss Sheila” by everyone at Northside and is actively involved in
everything from attending baby showers for teachers to contributing to every
fundraiser that students and faculty sponsor. A department chair said that
“she always seems to notice when someone has had a rough day and is there to
give a supportive word. She is also glad to celebrate good news with us.”
Sheila Snider is one of those individuals who cares for
everyone and takes pride in her work. She brightens the path of everyone who
comes in contact with her.
