“Above and Beyond the Call of Duty”

Assistant Superintendent for Human Resources, Mr. Don Cooper, recognized Dr. Cheryl Lankenau, School Psychologist, as the ABCD winner for January at the January Board Meeting.  Dr. Lankenau has been with MCSD for 14 years, serving at River Road Elementary, South Columbus Elementary, Kendrick High, and the Program for Exceptional Students.  She is a weekly contributor to River Road's parent newsletter and a supporter of the school's autism program.  According to her supervisor, she works untold hours over and above the call of duty and is a dedicated child advocate.  Dr. Lankenau was an originator and leader in high school depression screening in MCSD.  Our screening program is now nationally recognized.  She has also worked to develop and maintain the database management program used in the Program for Exceptional Students.
